Removing
GL1800 Knockouts Without Power Tools

In an effort to help those without the aid of a Dremel, RotoZip or air tools, we devised a method using simple hand tools which also reduces the potential for scratching.  Since Sears is one of the most prominent tool retailers, and their tools are also available online, we have used them for a reference.  They offer a 4 piece kit which includes the 2 tools needed for this operation for less than $12.00.

Click here for information on the tool set from Sears.  Type in "30428 " in the search bar and press return.

The Tools

1.  Using the diagonal cutters, cut the tabs holding the knock-out in place from the front side of the cowl.  Cut the tabs closest to the knock-out leaving the tab on the cowl.

2.  From the back of the cowl, use the end nippers to clip off the tab.  Keep clipping the tab until it is flush to the edge of the cowl.
