This bike was built for Bushtec Trailers in 1997. It started life as your average US spec, Candy Red Aspencade. We installed the trunk that Honda was forced to install for all German model bikes until 97. Affectionately known as the 'Pizza Box' the only thing that this trunk and its US counterpart had in common were the 4 mounting holes and the lights. We added a US spec spoiler (not available in Germany). We hand built a new locking mechanism with a single lock point (the German version used 2 locks). The bike was completely refinished in an Infiniti Metallic Olive Pearl. New old stock (NOS) logos were sourced for the front and rear of the bike as well as the sides of the trunk. New antenna mounts from a GL1200 were adapted since there is no CB option in Europe. The bike was hand pinstriped by Phil Whetstone and Dave McIntyre of BMW Boyz fame. Other custom mods included: Air Rider seat, 24" antenna system, chrome and painted rotor covers, all 'SE' options added, all lights upgraded to 98-00 style, chrome valve covers, chrome and painted wheels, chrome passenger floorboards, custom Clearview 'German Style' shield, custom Kuryakyn footpegs mounted to bottom of engine guards, custom exhaust tips cut into the rear lowers, shaved fuel door lock with remote release, and much, much more. Most of the work was so detailed you had to stand over the bike for an hour to see it all. We built one more of these bikes in a pearl white for a customer in Georgia after she saw this one.
